Newton 403 Hydrobond

Adam Lowe

Newton 403 HydroBond® is a high performance, self-healing, composite sheet membrane, available in two variants, with Newton HydroBond-GB adding ground gas resistance (in compliance with BS 8485:2015) as well as the exceptional waterproofing capabilities of the standard membrane. When fitted above the raft support or to wall formwork, the membrane locking fleece is fully encapsulated into the newly placed concrete, becoming fully-engaged to prevent water tracking. If the waterproof LDPE layer is punctured, the exposed hydrophilic coating expands, preventing water ingress, effectively sealing small holes that may be accidentally formed during fixing of the reinforcing steel or the placing and compaction of the concrete. Newton 403 HydroBond provides a complete waterproof envelope to the structure to achieve Type A (barrier) waterproofing suitable for Grades 1, 2 and 3 as defined by BS 8102:2009, and is suitable for all below ground and earth-retained structures from domestic basements to the largest civil enginneering projects. Both variants can be used as part of the HydroBond® System in conjunction with Newton 108 HydroBond-LM, which is sprayed to the exposed walls of the basement after the temporary formwork is removed. Where space is tight, Newton 109-LM can be applied by roller or brush or small airless spray machine. Newton 403 HydroBond can be used alongside other Newton products to provide a co-ordinated and combined approach to the waterproofing of the whole structure that includes protection against water ingress to the deck, through construction joints, through and around service entries and to movement joints. Correctly protected, the Newton HydroBond System will provide, under normal service conditions, a durable waterproof barrier for the life of the building to which it is installed; the expected lifetime of the building itself should be at least 60 years. The Newton HydroBond system is supported by BDA Agrément Certificate BAB 17-031/04/A and is accepted by the NHBC as a suitable waterproofing system for Type A Waterproofing to Grades 1, 2 & 3 according to BS 8102:2009.

Newton 410 GeoDrain

Adam Lowe

Newton 410 GeoDrain is a two-core drainage sheet consisting of a non-woven geotextile filter layer thermally welded to a water impermeable HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) drainage membrane. Newton 410 GeoDrain provides drainage and protection to the outside face of basement walls to sloping sites, preventing the build-up of water pressure and protecting the structure from aggressive water, chemicals and toxins, and provides mechanical protection only when used against the ‘Type A’ waterproofing where the site is not sloping and so where ground water removal is not viable or recommended.

Newton 107F

Adam Lowe

Newton 107F is a two-component, cementitious, polymer-rich coating for the waterproofing and protection of concrete and masonry. Capable of withstanding heads of water pressure up to 10 bar of positive pressure and up to 1.5 bar to the negative side of the structure, Newton 107F is ideally suited to the waterproofing of reservoirs, tunnels, water tanks, earth-retaining structures and covered or buried decks, and is especially capable where the structure has both masonry and concrete elements where differential movement is expected. When mixed, 107F is thixotropic to enable ease of application by brush or airless spray, providing an even finish with no sagging and excellent adhesion to prepared concrete and masonry substrates, even in vertical and overhead situations. Newton 107F is reinforced over static joints and at details and changes of direction with Newton 912-RT. Newton 107F hydrates to form a durable, highly alkaline and permanently elastomeric coating which not only protects the concrete or other substrates from water penetration, but also accommodates slight movement in cracks and at correctly specified movement joints. 107F is also supported by BDA Agrément® BAB 18-026-P-A-UK and is accepted by the NHBC as a suitable waterproofing system for Type A Waterproofing to Grades 1, 2 and 3 – BS 8102:2009 and to covered decks.

Newton 106 Flexproof

Adam Lowe

Newton 106 FlexProof is a highly advanced, single component, waterproofing compound for the waterproofing of joints that is supplied in two variants: Newton 106 FlexProof-X1 is a highly viscous, thixotropic paste that is suitable for the waterproofing of construction and vertical movement joints, whilst Newton 106 FlexProof-NV has a lower viscosity and so is pourable and better suited where the application is to horizontal movement joints. Both variants form an elastomeric polymer that is rainproof in minutes and capable of handling severe building movements and deformations. With a superb bond to most building materials and with very high levels of flexibility, Newton 106 FlexProof is capable of resisting both negative side and positive side water-pressure at construction joints, even where movement is expected. The product has the ability to remain watertight against positive pressure even when resisting 20% expansion and compression and 10% shear, and so is especially useful where waterproofing is required within movement joints and at the interfaces of differing materials. Backed by extensive MFPA test data, Newton 106 FlexProof is also a constituent part of the Newton HydroBond System, which is supported by BDA Agrément® BAB 17-031/04/A.

Newton 109-LM

Adam Lowe

Newton 109-LM is a radon gas certified, flexible, single-component, cold-applied, seamless rubber waterproofing membrane used primarily for the external waterproofing of earth retaining structures such as basements and foundation walls. Newton 109-LM is also adept as a detailing membrane for the termination and jointing of other Newton waterproofing products, and is the perfect primer for the adhesion of butyl products to concrete and mortar. Newton 109-LM is extremely puncture resistant with elasticity of 850% and a 95% recovery memory. The membrane becomes fully engaged into the substrate to prevent water tracking and is suitable for all below-ground and earth-retained structures, ranging from domestic basements to the largest civil engineering projects. Newton 109-LM is available in two variants: Medium Viscosity, for use in warmer temperatures, and Low Viscosity, for when it is cooler. Newton 109-LM is also a constituent product of the Newton HydroBond® System supported by BDA Agrément® BAB 16-031/03/A and is accepted by the NHBC as a suitable waterproofing system for Type A Waterproofing to Grades 1, 2 and 3 – BS 8102:2009.

Newton 110 WATstop

Adam Lowe

Manufactured by Diasen S.R.L. of Sassoferrato, Italy, Newton 110 WATstop is a three-component, fibre-reinforced cement/epoxy product that, when mixed, produces a workable mortar suitable for surface repair and surface smoothing. With the addition of up to 40% water, a paint/slurry-like consistency can be achieved that is suitable for numerous applications including the damp proofing of walls and slabs and the waterproofing of concrete structures, as well as being a primer for a number of Newton System 100 Liquid Waterproofing products.

Wykamol Waterguard 2 Metre

Adam Lowe

The Wykamol Waterguard Drainage Channel is a PVC drainage conduit for the control of water ingress in below ground waterproofing situations. Wykamol Waterguard has a flange up-stand and is fitted around the perimeter of the floor at the vulnerable wall to floor junctions, directing any ingress of water towards a sump chamber or drain.

Wykamol Waterguard Drain End

Adam Lowe

The Wykamol Waterguard Drain End comes with either a left return or a right return depending on where it is to be sited, and is ideal for houses built into a hill side where lower drainage is possible. It diverts any ingress of water away through an external wall as part of a Type C cavity drain membrane system in below-ground structures.

Wykamol Rope Tape

Adam Lowe

Wykamol Rope is a high quality product for use as part of a cavity drain membrane system. Made from a 10 mm bead of butyl rope, this product is used to either wrap around the head of plugs in a membrane application, or to form a jointing waterproof seal on wall and floor membrane systems
