Newton 508 Mesh

Adam Lowe

Newton 508 Mesh (Code M3): 2m x 20m – 40m². Newton 508 is a high quality cavity drain waterproofing membrane, which is supplied in a number of variants for use within Newton System 500, our internally applied waterproofing system that includes Newton drainage and pumping systems. Depending on the variant, Newton 508 is suitable for the waterproofing of earth retained walls, vaulted soffits and floors and is guaranteed against deterioration for 30 years, with a life expectancy of the design life of the building (DIN 9001:2000), and supported by BBA Certification Number 94/3010. Newton 508 is inert and, therefore, non-polluting to drinking water, highly resistant to water, alkalines, saline solutions and organic acids, and not affected by minerals and hydrocarbons. It is also rot-proof, and resistant to bacteria, fungi and other small organisms. Newton 508R and 508 eco Floor also both exhibit high compressive loading stability. Newton 508R and 508 eco Floor are also independently tested as an effective barrier to radon ground gases, with Newton 508R also tested as a methane and CO2 b d within our patented combined ground gas and waterproofing system, Newton PAC.

Newton 520 eco

Adam Lowe

Newton 520 eco is a cavity drain waterproofing membrane made from recycled High Density Polyethylene (HDPE). It is one of the main constituent parts of Newton System 500, our BBA Certified, ‘Type C’ cavity drain system, used for waterproofing of floors within earthretained structures, that includes drainage channels sited below the membrane for increased drainage capacity. With its 20 mm deep stud profile, Newton 520 eco is used within Newton System 500 as a high drainage capacity floor membrane and is generally specified where it is anticipated that there may be a risk of severe water penetration. Newton 520 eco is guaranteed against deterioration for 30 years, with a life expectancy of at least the design life of the building (DIN 9001:2000) and is supported by BBA Certification Number 94/3010. Newton 520 eco is inert and, therefore, non-polluting to drinking water, highly resistant to water, alkalies, saline solutions and organic acids, and not affected by minerals and hydro-carbons. It is also impervious to root penetration, is rot-proof, and resistant to bacteria, fungi and other small organisms.

Newton Basedrain (2m lengths)

Adam Lowe

Newton Basedrain is the drainage system used most commonly within the Newton CDM, ‘Type C’, cavity drain waterproofing system. The drainage system comprises of a range of products that collectively receive water ingressing at weaknesses within the structure and then discharge the collected water to a Newton Sump System or safe drainage (drainage that is below the level of the basement floor that cannot back-up or block): Newton Basedrain – Drainage conduit for the perimeter of the area to be waterproofed, that is situated at the base of the wall membrane Newton Floordrain – Drainage conduit for collection of water at the construction joint to the floor and to replace Basedrain at door thresholds. Floordrain is also used to connect the perimeter Basedrain to the sump Basedrain Corner – Formed 90 degree corner Basedrain T-Piece – Formed T for a 90 degree connection to the Floordrain from the Basedrain Jetting & Access Point – For inspection and maintenance access to the drainage system

Newton HydroBond Tape

Adam Lowe

Newton 403 Hydrobond tape is a high performance double sided tape designed for sealing overlap joints of the Newton 403 Hydrobond Membrane. It provides a Type A (barrier) waterproofing solution to below ground and earth-retained structures.

Newton 403 Hydrobond

Adam Lowe

Newton 403 HydroBond® is a high performance, self-healing, composite sheet membrane, available in two variants, with Newton HydroBond-GB adding ground gas resistance (in compliance with BS 8485:2015) as well as the exceptional waterproofing capabilities of the standard membrane. When fitted above the raft support or to wall formwork, the membrane locking fleece is fully encapsulated into the newly placed concrete, becoming fully-engaged to prevent water tracking. If the waterproof LDPE layer is punctured, the exposed hydrophilic coating expands, preventing water ingress, effectively sealing small holes that may be accidentally formed during fixing of the reinforcing steel or the placing and compaction of the concrete. Newton 403 HydroBond provides a complete waterproof envelope to the structure to achieve Type A (barrier) waterproofing suitable for Grades 1, 2 and 3 as defined by BS 8102:2009, and is suitable for all below ground and earth-retained structures from domestic basements to the largest civil enginneering projects. Both variants can be used as part of the HydroBond® System in conjunction with Newton 108 HydroBond-LM, which is sprayed to the exposed walls of the basement after the temporary formwork is removed. Where space is tight, Newton 109-LM can be applied by roller or brush or small airless spray machine. Newton 403 HydroBond can be used alongside other Newton products to provide a co-ordinated and combined approach to the waterproofing of the whole structure that includes protection against water ingress to the deck, through construction joints, through and around service entries and to movement joints. Correctly protected, the Newton HydroBond System will provide, under normal service conditions, a durable waterproof barrier for the life of the building to which it is installed; the expected lifetime of the building itself should be at least 60 years. The Newton HydroBond system is supported by BDA Agrément Certificate BAB 17-031/04/A and is accepted by the NHBC as a suitable waterproofing system for Type A Waterproofing to Grades 1, 2 & 3 according to BS 8102:2009.
