Newton Basedrain Drainage Adaptor

Adam Lowe

Newton Basedrain is the drainage system used most commonly within the Newton CDM, ‘Type C’, cavity drain waterproofing system. The drainage system comprises of a range of products that collectively receive water ingressing at weaknesses within the structure and then discharge the collected water to a Newton Sump System or safe drainage (drainage that is below the level of the basement floor that cannot back-up or block): Newton Basedrain – Drainage conduit for the perimeter of the area to be waterproofed, that is situated at the base of the wall membrane Newton Floordrain – Drainage conduit for collection of water at the construction joint to the floor and to replace Basedrain at door thresholds. Floordrain is also used to connect the perimeter Basedrain to the sump Basedrain Corner – Formed 90 degree corner Basedrain T-Piece – Formed T for a 90 degree connection to the Floordrain from the Basedrain Jetting & Access Point – For inspection and maintenance access to the drainage system

Newton Condensation Strip

Adam Lowe

The Newton Condensation Strip forms an 8 mm gap between the Basedrain perimeter drainage channel and wall membrane so that if condensation should form, it will be collected by the Basedrain and not pool on the floor, damaging finishes.

Newton 520 eco

Adam Lowe

Newton 520 eco is a cavity drain waterproofing membrane made from recycled High Density Polyethylene (HDPE). It is one of the main constituent parts of Newton System 500, our BBA Certified, ‘Type C’ cavity drain system, used for waterproofing of floors within earthretained structures, that includes drainage channels sited below the membrane for increased drainage capacity. With its 20 mm deep stud profile, Newton 520 eco is used within Newton System 500 as a high drainage capacity floor membrane and is generally specified where it is anticipated that there may be a risk of severe water penetration. Newton 520 eco is guaranteed against deterioration for 30 years, with a life expectancy of at least the design life of the building (DIN 9001:2000) and is supported by BBA Certification Number 94/3010. Newton 520 eco is inert and, therefore, non-polluting to drinking water, highly resistant to water, alkalies, saline solutions and organic acids, and not affected by minerals and hydro-carbons. It is also impervious to root penetration, is rot-proof, and resistant to bacteria, fungi and other small organisms.

Newton 508 eco Floor

Adam Lowe

Newton 508 eco Floor recycled membrane (Code M2): 2.5m x 20m – 50m² Newton 508 is a high quality cavity drain waterproofing membrane, which is supplied in a number of variants for use within Newton System 500, our internally applied waterproofing system that includes Newton drainage and pumping systems. Depending on the variant, Newton 508 is suitable for the waterproofing of earth retained walls, vaulted soffits and floors and is guaranteed against deterioration for 30 years, with a life expectancy of the design life of the building (DIN 9001:2000), and supported by BBA Certification Number 94/3010. Newton 508 is inert and, therefore, non-polluting to drinking water, highly resistant to water, alkalines, saline solutions and organic acids, and not affected by minerals and hydrocarbons. It is also rot-proof, and resistant to bacteria, fungi and other small organisms. Newton 508R and 508 eco Floor also both exhibit high compressive loading stability. Newton 508R and 508 eco Floor are also independently tested as an effective barrier to radon ground gases, with Newton 508R also tested as a methane and CO2 b d within our patented combined ground gas and waterproofing system, Newton PAC.

Newton 508 Mesh
